Where is EPA in Its Registration Review of Chlorpyrifos?

EPA is at the Case Development Stage in its evaluation of chlorpyrifos under the Agency’s Registration Review program. EPA has published a draft human health assessment of chlorpyrifos and has opened a public docket for public comments on it. (EPA’s draft environmental assessment of chlorpyrifos will be published at a later date.)

The docket will be open to receive public comment on EPA’s draft human health assessment of chlorpyrifos for 60 days, until September 6, 2011. In light of the complexity of the EPA draft assessment and importance of chlorpyrifos to U.S. agriculture, an extension of the comment period to November 6, 2011 has been requested to allow sufficient time for public comments to be submitted.
