Dow AgroSciences is committed to promoting responsible use of chlorpyrifos products in agriculture and safeguarding human health and environmental quality. Part of this commitment is reflected in the investment made in maintaining a state-of-the art scientific database of human health and environmental studies upon which impact assessments and regulatory decisions may be based. As relevant use precautions and best management practices are identified by regulatory authorities and Dow AgroSciences scientists and field representatives, these are incorporated into product labeling and technical bulletins. Also, as new data become available and regulatory policies are revised over time, use patterns may be modified or discontinued. As new information comes to light — or as standards change — regulators and registering companies respond.

In this section, we briefly discuss safety measures for three groups of people that could come into contact with chlorpyrifos: consumers, farm workers, and bystanders.
